Myths with Marcus
Myths with Marcus, is a wish, a dream to create a space where African and European folklore come to life through oral storytelling. I am of dual heritage — Black Afro-Caribbean and White European. Each telling, for me, is therefore an organic reflection on inheritance, belonging, and legacy.
The hope is for each telling to be a dialogue between – ancient ancestral images and present lives, Africa and Europe and the stories and whomever is in the room. The outcome is hopefully a magical and mystical reflection on what it means to be alive on planet earth today.

About Me
In trying to write this, ‘About me’, blurb, I googled ‘what is the word for a person who loves stories?’ and it came back with – ‘bibliophile’ which means ‘a person who collects or has a great love of books.’ Which is close but not quite right, I do love books. But my love affair is really with stories. I was lucky enough to have been read to, a lot, as a child. And it deeply affected me, with a sense of wonder, magic and mystery.
When I look back now, I can see how much of a gift it was, to have a nearly daily occurrence of being transported to a magical other world. And that is what I love about stories, the journeys they allow us to take. So I suppose I am someone who loves books, loves stories and loves the journeys they allow us to take.
